HEIDI NIDDS

Heidi Nidds graduated from the Fashion Institute of Technology and started Heidi Nidds Interiors in 1997. Her work incorporates a studied mix of antique and modern furnishings, along with an emphasis on good line and design at every price point. Before starting her interior design business, she directed window displays for men’s department stores in NJ, NYC, and Long Island. This gave her an affinity towards using neutrals mixed with pops of color to create a rich, layered environment. Her work includes a mix of textures and time periods to create a space that is visually interesting, comfortable and above all, personal. She is famous for saying that “in an interior, steel should meet gilt, combined with art, antiques, and clean lines”. While attending FIT in New York City, she was inspired by Belgian and Parisian designers, appreciating the mix of style, irreverence and sensibility that their influence can bring to an American interior. Heidi incorporates the European influences of style and sensibility to American interiors through her work. Heidi has redefined residential and commercial spaces all across NYC, Connecticut, and New Jersey, the latter featured in the May 2021 Home Edition of 201 Magazine. She currently lives in Ridgewood, NJ with her husband, four children, and her Norwich Terrier, Maxine.
